Manchet Oct. 2014 Comfort

Welcome to October '14's Manchet!

Webster's 1828:    MANCHET, n. A small loaf of fine bread.

Genesis 18:5A...And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts.......

If we have ever needed comfort for our hearts it is today don't you agree! God gave me that small loaf of fine bread last week - that comfort for my heart! I'd like to quickly try to pass a bit along to you this morning!  It seems so often the devil gets an upperhand on our minds and we have to sit down and look up and cry out to Him, "Oh Father, I need you!" And as David said, ".....not later now Father, but now - oh please come quickly!"

Yesterday in my Ladies SS class, I used a lesson that the Lord gave to me - it is for oppression - from the devil - on my mind! How He helped me so much. You know, as we get into trouble - it really doesn't matter girls, if it is your finances, your marriage relationship, your health, your fears, your home, your children, your "ONE" of "MANY" problems that come every day - it still boils down to this - We need God!

Oh we can get so busy and run so much and just say, Later Lord, I will have more time after while, I will feel better after while, I will be finished here soon...... But then, we have given the devil that little minute - just that little space of time to get that foothold he longed for and then, before we realize what has happened, "Boom!"  he has us right where he wants us... Those little tiny voices... "Well, it is over this time! \" "You went too far this time" "Said one too many words this time" "No forgiveness this time" "You are dying this time"   Oh he does go on and on and on!

But thankfully, more faithful is He that is within us! He is always there and ready to help - all we have to do is call and instantly - He has His arms around us!
I found this verse last week - no, Click Me! it didn't just appear there, it has always been there, I have read it many times Click Me! but as always, just when "I" needed it for "ME"! There it was so clearly speaking to my heart! .........Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. That jumped out at me so plainly! He didn't tell Abram He would give him a shield, no, no! - He said "I" amyour shield! Can you get that girls?! He is my shield! What can get through Him?! Right! NOTHING! He is so much better than good! He is my shield!!!!!!

So, join me in knowing, He is your shield if you are His child! Nothing can touch you without going through Him first!  What a wonderful God we have!
